This will expose me, but I care more about helping others than appearing flawless. I have anxiety and it has been creating a lot of problems for me. Some of them are genuine blockers in my life.
We geeks are somewhat more prone to having anxiety, at least we used to be. One of the bigger sources of our anxiety is the lack of physical activity which is, partially, driven by our love for computers. Being glued to a screen for prolonged periods of time is not good. Lack of physical activity is directly linked to elevated episodes of anxiety and panic attacks. But it is reversible and it doesn’t take a lot of willpower.
The cure
Increase the dosage of the physical activity you are having. Don’t overdo it. If you have been doing literally nothing for years with your body then start walking. Walking 30 minutes every day will gain you big improvements in a matter of just one month.
If your willpower is incredibly low — get yourself a dog. Trust me, I know why I recommend this.
Until my next #MentalHealth post I wish you good health!
